Packing a pair of twin-scroll turbos, the S 63's 4.0L V8 can turn its 603 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque into 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Locating the turbos in the "hot V" between its cylinder banks cuts lag and losses, for astonishingly quick response.
A quick-shifting multiclutch transmission keeps you at the peak of power. The 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT® MCT in the S 63 combines light weight with a versatile range of ratios. It also offers shift paddles, multiple modes and can downshift multiple gears.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT lets you transform your car with the tap of a console control. From Comfort to RACE, there's a mode to sharpen corners or chill out your commute. You can even set up the shifting, suspension, steering and more to create a mode of your own.
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ expertly apportions the S 63's torque to all four wheels, to maximize grip at takeoff, agility in turns, and stability in all situations. Its innovative variable torque split can adapt to conditions intelligently and seamlessly, from 100% to the rear wheels to a 50/50 split.
Along with 3-stage ESP® that lets you vary the intervention of the Electronic Stability Program, torque-vectoring Dynamic Cornering Assist helps you take curves with greater precision. Single-wheel braking helps gently pivot the car onto a more favorable path.
An AMG S-Class is engineered to shed speed even more admirably than it accelerates. Rigid 6-piston front calipers evenly apply high braking force to compound perforated and slotted 15.4-inch front discs. Optional AMG Ceramic Composite brakes are race-proven for extreme endurance with less weight.
The AMG Adaptive Sport Suspension is based on AIRMATIC®, an advanced air suspension with adaptive damping and 4-wheel automatic leveling that adjusts for vehicle loading and driving speed. Multiple modes let suit your deepest driving desires or insulate passengers from rough surfaces.
A fuel-saving ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.
Six 20-inch AMG® wheel designs are available, nearly all forged-alloy. Two styling packages let you accent the deep gloss or modern matte paintwork with carbon fiber or gloss black elements. Your AMG S 63 Cabriolet lets you make a powerful style statement, and backs it up with performance to match. AMG Carbon Fiber Package pictured above.
From its classically inspired vertical-bar grille to its LED lighting and 20-inch wheels, an AMG S-Class Cabriolet honors its rich traditions by boldly moving them ahead. Matte chrome details add definition to the S 63's muscular body, with gloss black and carbon fiber elements available as well.
Available headlamps with Swarovski® crystals highlight the multifaceted performance of the S 63. AMG S 63 Cabriolet in Anthracite Blue with Driver Assistance Package pictured above.
Available AMG Ceramic Compound brakes are framed by your choice of six 20-inch AMG® wheels. AMG S 63 Cabriolet in Cirrus Silver with 20-inch AMG forged cross-spoke wheels pictured above.
The 3-layer "acoustic" soft top is meticulously tailored for long-lasting beauty and a remarkably quiet cabin. A bonded butyl layer fends off the elements while keeping the top-up profile free from visible bows. At speeds of up to 31 mph, the one-button power top takes less than 20 seconds to vanish under a sleek cover that elegantly unites the cabin and rear deck, while leaving ample trunk space. Four stylish colors are available. Among its generously sized windows is a heated rear window.
Exclusive AMG-design lower bodywork reveals the performance pedigree of the AMG S 63 with purposeful style. Large mesh grilles in the deep front apron feature an airflow-channeling "jet-wing" design outlined in gloss black with a thin matte silver chrome highlight. Sharply flared side sills feature matte chrome inserts, while a sculpted rear valance frames the four trapezoidal exhaust tips.
A flowing sculpture of hand-finished wood or carbon fiber, precisely stitched leather, and satin aluminum envelops the four seats. With the insulated top up, there's suedelike DINAMICA overhead. Top down, a ring of satin metal encircles the cabin like art in a frame.
Available in four styles, the AMG Performance steering wheel puts extraordinary handling in your hands. Its Touch Control Buttons bring a wide array of features to your thumbs. An available new AMG DRIVE UNIT adds performance controls. Twin 12.3-inch widescreens offer reconfigurable digital instruments and displays.
Individually contoured seats and generous windows make the rear cabin a treat even with the top up. AMG S 63 Cabriolet in designo Porcelain/Deep Sea Blue Exclusive Nappa leather pictured above.
Intuitive, and artfully sculpted, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 12-way power adjustment, including cushion length. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions.
The active multicontour front seats each feature adjustable lumbar supports, side bolsters and shoulder supports, for custom-tailored support. Active side bolsters can be set to automatically increase lateral support in cornering maneuvers, or even in the event of a potential accident. Six massage programs can soothe and rejuvenate the lower back, including two modes combining massage and heat for a "hot stone" effect worthy of a high-end spa.
Extend your top-down driving enjoyment further into a cool evening or later into the season with the AIRSCARF® neck-level heating system. Tilt-adjustable vents beneath each front head restraint deliver warmed airflow to your neck, head and shoulders, like a virtual scarf. With individual 3-stage temperature controls and airflow automatically adjusted to your driving speed, AIRSCARF means you don't have to put the top up just because the sun, or thermometer, has gone down.
An exclusive Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet innovation, AIRCAP® is an automatic virtual wind blocker. Utilizing a speed-sensitive airfoil that rises from the windshield header and an automatically height-adjusting see-through mesh screen between the rear head restraints, AIRCAP helps keep top-down driving quiet and draft-free even at highway speeds. And unlike conventional wind deflectors, the rear seats remain fully usable.
A production-car first, ENERGIZING Comfort coordinates the climate control, Air Balance fragrance, ambient lighting, audio system, and even the available massaging driver seat and heated armrests. Five 10-minute programs such as Refresh, Vitality or Comfort, plus three Training programs, accompany physical benefits with harmonious cabin lighting and music. Five music tracks are included, or it can select music from your own connected device by analyzing its tempo.
All new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are protected by our New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covering defects in material or workmanship for 48-months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. For added protection, the Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty offers continued peace of mind with prolonged coverage tailored to your needs.
In the future, cars will be able to communicate with each other over the airwaves. The future starts today. With its industry-leading Car-to-X Communication, every new S-Class can automatically alert a central notification system of certain dangers, from detected wheelspin to the use of hazard flashers or even windshield wipers. The system can then alert other drivers with Car-to-X via in-dash displays or announcements, allowing precautions to be taken before reaching the hazard.
If an air bag deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This vital service is provided for as long as you own the vehicle, no matter who's driving.
Integrated within each rear head restraint, pop-up roll bars can deploy within a third of a second of detecting an impending rollover, to help preserve occupant space. The roll bars can also be raised electrically by the occupants.
An advanced system of 10 air bags offers advanced occupant protection. Dual two-stage front air bags are augmented by dual knee air bags. Pelvic/thorax air bags are provided for the driver and front passenger, and side-impact air bags are provided for the rear passengers. Side curtain air bags are also provided for the front seats, something you won't find in many other Cabriolets.
Strategic use of aluminum and ultrahigh-strength steel helps elevate the overall rigidity, occupant protection and acoustic qualities of the body shell, while reducing weight. Advanced materials such as extruded and cast aluminum and metal-polymer hybrids enhance strength while cutting mass. Innovative thermally assisted forming and laser-bonding of the long, frameless doors team with their cast-aluminum inner structures, for high side-impact strength even without a metal roof or full B-pillars.
Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.
The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
Interpreting information that is continually supplied by the car's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), electric power steering and suspension sensors, Crosswind Assist can help detect the effects of strong side winds on the vehicle's handling stability at highway speeds. Whether caused by lateral gusts or even a passing truck, the system can help keep the car on course via strategic braking of the wheels on one side of the vehicle.
