Front 138kW asynchronous electric motor

Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQB 250+ is powered by an advanced 138 kW electric motor that can send up to 188 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. The asynchronous motor (ASM), single-ratio transmission and differential, along with the cooling system and electronics, form a highly compact powertrain.

Front-wheel drive

The EQB front-wheel drive system is an ideal match for its nimble handling and efficient packaging. Impeccable calibration of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Electronic Traction System (ETS) enhances tire bite under hard acceleration, while equal-length driveshafts virtually eliminate undesirable torque steer.

Intelligent Energy Recovery with paddles

Paddles on the steering wheel let you vary the intensity of energy recuperated by deceleration and braking during normal driving. Three levels of recuperation are selectable: normal, increased (which can allow one-pedal driving), and none (effectively coasting when you let off the driving pedal). A "D Auto" setting can activate the intelligent ECO Assist feature.

DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, and more. A fourth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.

Aluminum roof rails

Sleek and purposeful, the roof rails accommodate a variety of available accessory attachments for carrying bikes, surfboards, skis, snowboards and cargo carriers. They're crafted from elegant aluminum that adds modern style even when you're not using them.

LED Daytime Running Lamps

64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents

A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting outlines the dash/door trim and console, while casting a glow in the chrome-ringed dash vents, footwells, door handles and door pockets. Along with 64 selectable colors, three cabin zones and adjustable brightness, you can also enjoy two colors at once, and either static or slowly changing hues. A "light show" greets your arrival, while the dash vent lighting briefly acknowledges your climate-control adjustments.

Power front seats with 3-position memory

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you find your ideal driving position with 12-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power side mirror positions. Both front seats also feature adjustable cushion length, for optimal thigh support and added comfort.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 5 microns from entering the cabin. Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.

SmartKey with KEYLESS-START

Sleek, stylish and compact in your pocket, the SmartKey remote control integrates remote door locks and liftgate opener, and a remote panic alarm. You may selectively unlock only the driver's door and charging port, or all doors plus the liftgate and charging port. The vehicle can be started via a pushbutton in the dash, thanks to a standard KEYLESS-START feature.

Cruise control

Electronic speed control helps make open-highway driving easier. Settings are easily adjusted via controls on the left steering-wheel spoke.

Bluetooth audio streaming

Bluetooth® audio streaming makes it even easier to enjoy your digital music player. It allows you to connect your Bluetooth-equipped audio device wirelessly to your vehicle's audio system for convenient, cable-free playback.

PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist

Active Parking Assist can search for suitable parallel or perpendicular parking spaces to either side as you drive by. Choose a space to pull or back into, and it can expertly shift, steer and brake for you. When it's time to leave, it can also steer you back out. In any low-speed maneuver, PARKTRONIC sensors in the front and rear bumpers help detect nearby objects within their field of view. Audible signals and illuminated displays in the cabin help you navigate tight spaces with confidence.

Rearview camera

For a better view of what's behind your vehicle when reversing, a high-resolution camera can display a live view on the central in-dash screen. Steering-dependent active guidelines on the screen can help you back into a parking space, and you can select between wide-angle and even wider 180-degree views.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

Adaptive braking technology

Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying can periodically apply the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist can help prevent unwanted rollback. And a brake HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.
