Rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection team with a liquid-cooled turbo to put its 295 lb-ft of torque on tap at just 3,000 rpm, and deliver 60 mph just 4.8 seconds. New 48-volt architecture and a belt-driven Starter-Generator can supply up to 13 hp for added response on demand. Beneath its red-striped engine cover, a lightweight diecast-alloy block, variable valve timing and reduced friction further raise efficiency and performance.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

3-stage Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

Multistage ESP offers a mode for every driving situation: On, Sport and Off. With ESP On, detected instability results in braking intervention at one or more wheels, plus a reduction in engine torque, to help rotate the car back onto the driver's intended course. Sport mode allows for higher drift angles in performance driving, raising the brake-intervention and torque-reduction thresholds. ESP Off removes intervention altogether, making the results a direct expression of the driver's skill.
