The first "43" engine handcrafted in the AMG "One man, one engine" tradition applies technology from Formula 1^® racing to advance performance with efficiency. A pioneering electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and Integrated Starter-Generator team with advanced fuel injection, friction reduction and multi-level engine cooling. The result is V8-worthy output of 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque from a compact, lightweight and decidedly modern 2.0L 4-cylinder engine.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission

A 9-speed multiclutch transmission is effective, efficient and enjoyable. AMG SPEEDSHIFT^® MCT technology shortens shift times and offers quick multi-gear downshifts. A wet startup clutch eliminates the torque converter, to improve performance and help save weight. The Manual shift mode, and the Sport and Sport+ modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT can quicken upshifts and rev-match downshifts, while the Individual mode offer a Glide feature to help save fuel when coasting.

AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive

AMG has developed a version of 4MATIC^® that redefines the performance potential of all-wheel drive. A 31:69 base front/rear torque split to assure an ideal balance of power delivery under hard acceleration and coming out of corners. In virtually every driving condition, AMG Performance 4MATIC enhances grip and acceleration while preserving agility and driving fun.

AMG Sport Suspension with AMG RIDE CONTROL

The AMG RIDE CONTROL Suspension responds with equal skill to the demands of the racetrack, city streets, highways and back roads. Lighter and more rigid than the standard GLC suspension, its AMG-developed springs and shock absorbers deliver highly responsive tracking and cornering with a balance of comfort and control, even as driving conditions vary. Along with 3-stage variable damping, the modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT also adapt the steering feedback.

Steering wheel with Touch Control Buttons

Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness. Finger-sensitive buttons access features like audio, Bluetooth^® and cruise control. Four smartphone-like pads offer direct control of countless cockpit features. The upper touchpads operate the menu screen in the gauge cluster or the central multimedia display. Larger, lower touchpads let you vary your cruising speed or adjust the audio volume, all with your hands on the wheel.

FrontBass system

A leap forward in audio quality, FrontBass takes advantage of the GLC bodyshell by utilizing the rigid front frame members as resonance chambers for an under-dash subwoofer. In addition to providing rich, precise bass throughout the interior, the design saves weight and frees up space in the cabin and doors.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin.

Rearview camera

For a better view of what's behind your vehicle when reversing, a high-resolution camera can display a live view on the central in-dash screen. Steering-dependent active guidelines on the screen can help you back into a parking space, and you can select between wide-angle and even wider 180-degree views.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 8 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then help alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

7 air bags

An advanced system of 7 air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags and combined thorax/pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, plus a knee air bag for the driver, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® can continuously monitor up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
