ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. Hybrid Integrated Starter-Generator

Electrifying the inline-6 gasoline engine is an innovative Integrated Starter-Generator. It teams with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery to supply power for formerly belt-driven components like the water pump and air-conditioning compressor. 4MATIC fully variable all-wheel drive

A specially engineered version of 4MATIC® can automatically send from zero to 100% of the engine's torque to either axle, front or rear. A transfer case with a multi-disc clutch can vary the torque distribution based on the driving conditions in the moment. While this allows for precise response to varying surfaces and individual-wheel traction off-road and in inclement weather, it can also enhance handling in any season by favorably influencing the vehicle's rotation.

3.0L inline-6 turbo engine with mild hybrid drive

The seamless power and natural balance of an inline-6 have returned to the Three-Pointed Star with another Mercedes-Benz tradition: a technological leap forward. The lightweight, fully beltless engine is also electrified, with an Integrated Starter-Generator that can supply up to 21 hp, allows gas-free coasting, and can recapture energy during deceleration. Power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot.
