A pair of biturbo V8s, each from its own pair of hands

Each AMG GT engine is crafted by the hands of a single master whose name adorns a plate on top. Along with higher boost, enhancements to the 4.0L biturbo V8's oil pan, intercooler and internal airflow help deliver 60 mph in 3.8 seconds in the 469-hp GT 55, and 3.1 seconds in the 577-hp GT 63.

Response and revs in ideal ratios

The acclaimed AMG SPEEDSHIFT^® MCT 9-speed transmission features a wet startup clutch in place of a conventional torque converter, for lighter weight, lower inertia, quicker shifts and heightened emotions. Shift paddles stay fingertip close on the AMG Performance steering wheel.

Leveler headed

AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL can adapt the damping at each wheel in fractions of a second. It can also actively adjust to resist body roll in corners, while enhancing straight-line comfort. Available front-axle lift can help you negotiate steep driveways, and store locations in memory.

Speed shedder

Composite brake rotors connect steel discs with aluminum hubs via special pins, a design to reduce weight and allow better brake cooling. New directional perforations in the discs further enhance cooling as well as water dispersion. AMG Carbon Ceramic brakes are a track-focused option.

Advanced DIGITAL LIGHT LED headlamps can adapt to curves, darkness and oncoming traffic. Integrated Daytime Running Lamps feature a distinctive three-element design that's echoed in the LED taillamps. Cabin lighting offers 64 colors of ambience you can custom-tailor.

Emotion emitter

Four polished trapezoidal tailpipes play a resounding performance symphony beloved by AMG drivers. Selectable modes let you revel in the revs during acceleration and gear changes, or tone it all down to a mellow growl that'll please the neighbors.

Burmester Surround Sound system

One of the most respected makers of handcrafted high-end home audio, Germany's Burmester^® has developed a surround-sound system that's specifically tailored to the AMG GT. With 10 high-quality speakers plus a trunk-mounted subwoofer and a 600-watt, 16-channel digital amplifier, the system can fill the cabin with pure surround sound while seamlessly compensating for ambient noise. Exquisitely detailed aluminum speaker grilles are as rewarding to the eyes as the system's output is to the most discerning ears.

12.3-inch digital instrument cluster

A reconfigurable digital instrument cluster is set into a classically inspired three-dimensional visor. You can select any of four AMG-design instrumentation styles: Modern Classic, Sporty, Discreet and Supersport. Supersport can show extensive performance info, including a racing-inspired upshift prompt for the manual shift mode. Other data can include a warm-up menu, graphical G-force meter, and key engine info including hp/torque output and fluid temperatures.

Biometric authentication

ou can personalize up to 800 vehicle settings, from music programming to seat comfort, and save them in any of seven user profiles. Features can even be set up via the Mercedes me connect mobile app, when you're away from the car. Your Mercedes me connect PIN identifies your profile, or you can use a built-in fingerprint reader below the central touchscreen. The system can also recognize your voice, and profiles can even be used in multiple cars.

Power-folding side mirrors

The side mirrors can be folded in at the touch of a button, adding convenience when parked in tight quarters. You can also program the mirrors to fold automatically when you remote-lock the vehicle, then unfold upon unlocking.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passenger to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

Active Brake Assist

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist

Active Parking Assist can search for suitable parallel or perpendicular parking spaces to either side as you drive by. Choose a space to pull or back into, and it can expertly shift, steer and brake for you. When it's time to leave, it can also steer you back out. In any low-speed maneuver, PARKTRONIC sensors in the front and rear bumpers help detect nearby objects within their field of view. Audible signals and illuminated displays in the cabin help you navigate tight spaces with confidence.

8 air bags

An advanced system of air bags offers extensive occupant protection. Standard for the driver and front passenger are dual two-stage front air bags, knee air bags, and side-impact air bags. Also standard are side curtain air bags.
