Hybrid Integrated Starter-Generator

Electrifying the inline-6 gasoline engine is an innovative Integrated Starter-Generator. It teams with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery to supply power for formerly belt-driven components like the water pump and air-conditioning compressor. These advancements help reduce weight and enhance underhood packaging. In addition, the electric assist can generate additional, gas-free power and torque for immediate response.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for quick acceleration response. An added benefit of the Integrated Starter-Generator is how it can make the restart process more seamlessly smooth than ever before. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

LED Intelligent Light System with Ultra Wide Highbeams

Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, active LED headlamps can generate light that's perceived much like natural daylight. Active Curve Illumination and Adaptive Highbeam Assist continuously adjust the beam pattern of the LEDs in each headlamp to help maximize the illumination of corners and straightaways, without creating glare for other drivers. An Ultra Wide Highbeam feature is designed to better illuminate the road and the environment along either side.

4-zone automatic climate control

Four individual zones offer personalized comfort to each side of the front cabin, the second row, and the third row. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes sun and humidity sensors, a dust/pollen filter, and an activated charcoal filter that automatically recirculates cabin air upon detecting a significant increase in smog. The in-dash controls can adjust all zones, while a 2nd-row panel can also adjust the rear cabin.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, enhancements can also alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

PRE-SAFE

A Mercedes-Benz first, PRE-SAFE® can detect instability during certain vehicle maneuvers that suggest a collision or rollover is imminent. It can then tighten the front seat belts, adjust the front passenger seat, and close the windows and sunroof, all in an effort to better prepare the occupants and restraints in the moments before a collision. If no accident occurs, the seat-belt tensioners reverse, and you simply readjust your seat, open the sunroof and continue on your way.
